Excessive Sweating

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Sweating is a normal, heathy bodily function. But in the case of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), the body produces more sweat than necessary to regulate it’s temperature. This is unpleasant and can cause a negative impact both personally and socially. Axillary sweating can be treated well.

The production of sweat is a vital function of the body. Sweating protects against overheating. Sweat cools the skin at heat and exertion and thus lowers the body temperature. The resulting moisture, called sweat, is the unavoidable evil. However, if the body produces extensive sweat without the needing for cooling, it is called hyerhidrosis. The most common areas of strong sweat production are the palms of the hands, the soles of the feet, under the armpits (axilliary) and occasionally the head. In our dermatological practice we have specialised in the treatment of axilliary sweating, under the armpits

Hair Loss

Hair loss

Everyone loose hair, each day. But if more hair gets lost than grows back every day, bald spots on the head will develop. Often circular, but also diffuse in various places. Hair loss can have many different causes. Therefore, we treat hair loss individually.

Hair loss can have various triggers, such as stress, hormonal disorders, genetic predisposition, medication but also chronic diseases and infections or simply a lack of nutrients. For the investigation of the causes, we supplement laboratory tests with the trichoscan. Its digital analysis of hair root growth allows a very reliable diagnosis and follow-up. With targeted therapy, hair loss can be stopped and often hair growth can be stimulated again.

Eczema

Eczema

Eczema is a common group of itchy and inflammatory skin diseases. Eczema can have many causes. Therefore, it requires a precise diagnosis to find the appropriate treatment for each patient.

Eczema can occur anywhere on the body. Affected persons identify them by reddened skin, which later begins to itch or burn. Sometimes the skin becomes tense or small blisters form. These eczemas are inflammatory but not infectious skin diseases. Normally there is no danger of infection.

The large group of different types of eczema is the most common skin disease in Europe. This type of indisposition has a typical course, beginning with reddening of the skin, which can develop into weeping and crusting.

Most, but not all eczema can be treated well, although not always curable. In order to initiate the right therapy, eczema requires a careful examination, because of its many possible triggers. Untreated, eczema can become chronic, so a timely clarification is recommended if, for example, an existing redness of the skin does not disappear.

Phototherapy

Phototherapy (Light therapy)

In dermatology, phototherapy – also known as light therapy –has proven to be a gentle and effective treatment for chronic skin diseases such as psoriasis or neurodermatitis and even skin cancer. Phototherapy uses controlled artificial ultraviolet light to help reduce symptoms of common skin conditions.

Long time ago, in ancient times, people knew that some skin diseases improve by themselves in the sunlight. And even today, many patients feel this positive effect. Although they rarely go out into the sun without sunscreen out of concern for sunburn and skin tumors. In this respect, it was only logical to use the anti-inflammatory UV-A and UV-B light, regardless of the weather, for the targeted and controlled treatment of skin diseases. Phototherapy has proven itself in chronic diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, such as seborrhoeic eczema, atopic eczema or neurodermatitis. In addition the treatment of white skin cancer achieves very good results with photodynamic therapy (PDT).

Rosacea

Rosacea

Rosacea is a frequent medical condition where the fine veins in the face enlarge giving the face a red appearance. Rosacea is usually easy to treat. We use many non-drug therapies, like medical lasers to treat rosacea.

Rosacea is a non-infectious, widespread chronic skin disease affecting predominantly adults over the age of 30 years. It is estimated that 3-5% of adults suffer from rosacea. Rosacea develops in stages. In the first stage it appears as a fleeting, occasional redness on the face. Subsequent the redness remains permanently visible. It is caused by a lasting dilation of the small, superficial blood vessels in the skin. In later stages, red papules and small pus blisters develop, which in men can lead to nodular thickening of the skin, often around the nose (bulbous nose). The eyes can also be affected and become inflamed.

Rosacea is one of the most common dermatoses in adults. It is associated with a high degree of suffering due to its predominant occurrence on the face. It is therefore gratifying that the symptoms can be treated well and permanently by our individual rosacea therapy, even if the otherwise chronic disease cannot be cured.
